Details 

A positively charged protein derived from bones. Gelatin reduces polyphenolic compounds (tannins) by attracting these negatively charged compounds, along with yeast cells, and settles them out in a dense, compact lees in the bottom of secondary. Gelatin is used in conjunction with Bentonite. Directions: add 1 tablespoon gelatin fining in 1 cup boiling water and stir to dissolve. Then add to 6 gallon wine and stir. Stir gently for 1 minute. Leave the wine in secondary for 1 week to settle. After 1 week, if the wine is not clear, leave for a further week until this condition is reached. Finally, filter or rack to bottles.

Is PVPP (Polyvinylpolypyrrolidone) based white powder used as a clarifier and antioxidant. It is used to prevent or remedy oxidation problems caused during the winemaking process, or due to high levels of grape rot or mold. It is also used to improve wine affected by over aging or poor storage conditions. POLYCLAR can help improve color and clarity—by removing off-colors produced in browning and pinking reactions in the wine. Improves aroma– by developing the natural bouquet of the wine. Improves taste by preserving wine freshness and removing harsh tasting flavor components. POLYCLAR also selectively removes haze-causing polyphenols. POLYCLAR can be added to the must before fermentation or during fermentation, or it can be added to the wine after fermentation at any stage prior to final filtration or settling. POLYCLAR is insoluble in wine and is removed in the lees by either racking or filtration. DIRECTIONS: 1/2 to 1 1/2 tsp per 5 gallon. Mix POLYCLAR with 8 oz of bottled water. Add to secondary. Stir gently for 1 minute. Leave the wine in secondary for 1 week to settle. After 1 week, if the wine is not clear, leave for a further week until this condition is reached. Finally, filter or rack to bottles.

The preferable way to clear high pH wines or wine that have been overfined & will not clear. SPARKOLLOID is a fining agent for wine, vinegar and juice. Sparkolloid is a blend of polysaccharides mixed in a diatomaceous earth carrier. At the pH of wine or vinegar, Sparkolloid has a strong positive charge. This neutralizes the repelling charge from many small particles (yeast cells, tannins, bacteria and/or other negatively charged colloids) allowing them to aggregate and form a compact lees. Sparkolloid does not absorb desirable color constituents or strip wine. Directions: Dissolve 1 Tbsp in 1 cup (8 fl oz) of boiling water for 5 minutes. Add mixture to 6 US gallon (23L) of wine. Stir gently. Wait 1 week to clear before racking or bottling.

Details 

A deluxe immersion style chiller for rapid cooling of wort. Simply place it in the brew kettle or fermenter and attach it to the faucet. This chiller is designed for a maximum boil height of approximately 18. The worm clamp can be slightly loosened to allow the copper to be stretched to the boiling pot size. The bulk of the coiled copper should be closer to the surface of the wort. If you have a taller boiling pot, then carefully hook the copper inlet and outlet to hang off of the pot. Pay close attention to the bend, a tight bend will restrict flow or crimp the copper. Rinse your immersion chiller off with hot water and hang or place upside down to drain before storing it away.
